Both of Hermione's parents have long been fascinated with myth, legend, and other fantasy. They would frequently wonder if magic and such could be real, and when their home was visited by a professor from a supposed wizarding school, they were excited to learn about this and support their daughter.

Hermione was sorted into Ravenclaw her first year, and has been teaching her parents about the reality of 'fantasy' through letters. The family works on comparing the real thing and the mythology around it as a sort of secret project.

She has no strong connections to Harry Potter or Ronald Weasley.
